Sketch comedy veterans the Leeds Tealights are making their Brighton Fringe debut this year, bringing their bizarre and offbeat sketch show from Yorkshire to the shores of Sussex for the first time. Fresh from gigs in London, Durham, Bristol, Cambridge and Manchester, the Tealights are ready to show you their high-octane, laugh-a-minute medley of skits and shorts that have had audiences across the country in stitches.
Formed in 2005, the Tealights have been a mainstay of the sketch comedy scene for many years, and many of its former members have gone on to make a splash on the UK comedy circuit, including Jack Barry, recently featured in Channel 4 series 'Feel Good', and award-winning comedian Annie McGrath.
Don’t miss your chance to see these wandering merchants of silliness as they bring their wares further south than ever before. The Tealights are ready to serve you the comedy herring from their smorgasbord of freshly pickled sketches (this is a metaphor: there is no actual fish).
The Tealights’ absurd sketches and unexpected choices are rip-roaringly funny
- Broadway Baby, ★★★★
It is no understatement to say that every single sketch from the Leeds team caused the audience to erupt into laughter
- Palatinate, ★★★★★
I am left amazed by the pure creativity that goes into every single original sketch and the cast’s dynamic performances which bring these crazy ideas to life
