Where do art and migration meet?
Relaxed: Photos/videos of the show can be provided in advance. Involuntary noise from audience members is fine. Softened lighting with no flickering. House lights will be kept up throughout the show. Adapted music kept to a low level. People will be allowed to move around the space and enter/leave as required throughout. Early entry is available. Photos/videos of the venue and space can be provided in advance. The time slot is flexible and shows can be paused and allowed to overrun if necessary. A chill out zone and\/or safe space will be in action. The performance will have a considerably lowered audience capacity.
What does art have to say about migration and belonging?
Do artists with a migration background create art differently? What do migrant artists have to say about this Island in 2020?
As a country with a long history of migration, the exhibition 'The Art of Migration' will explore all these through a showcase of multimedia installation, photography, painting and films. Dates for performances, talks and workshops can be found on our website and social media.
This event is supported by the Irene Mensah Bursary.
