If you are an event or venue manager that would like to take part in Brighton Fringe, you can find all the information you need here. If you have a question about taking part, you can email our Artist & Venue Services team or call them on 01273 764907.
Tickets are non-refundable, aside from the specific circumstances outlined in our terms and conditions. We will however aim to offer you a transfer to different performance of the event where available.
We can transfer tickets as long as it is to an alternate performance of the same event. Please do be aware that in most cases transfers cannot take place within 24 hours of the booked performance.
To organise a transfer, contact the Box Office with the details of your booking and the date you wish to transfer to.
Transfers can only be made between performances of the same event – this is because money from ticket sales belongs to the event organiser, so Brighton Fringe cannot revoke and redistribute funds between events.
If a show is appearing as sold out on our website, this means that Brighton Fringe’s allocation of tickets has run out, and as tickets are non-refundable, this likely will remain as such. Some events do have a separate venue Box Office that has its own allocation of tickets, so you can check directly with the venue to see if they have any tickets available on their end.
We charge a booking fee of £1.50 per ticket, which caps at £6. This is charged in all transactions, including online, over the phone and in person bookings. Each transaction we make incurs a cost from our payment and booking processors, so the booking fee helps to cover this as well as going towards the administration of the Box Office.
Booking fees are non-refundable in all circumstances, except cancellations. This is because the fee covers the cost of the transaction and is unrelated to the event itself.
All of our tickets are E-Tickets that will be emailed to you upon purchase. These include a QR code that venues can scan at the door. You can take these with you on a device or print them at home if you would prefer.
If you are digitally excluded and have no way to access an E-Ticket, get in touch with us and our Box Office team will aim to assist you.
All events will have icons that indicate the accessibility of the event on the right-hand side of the event page – however if the event is at more than one venue, these will be the combined icons from both venues. To see individual venue’s access requirements, click on the venue name to be taken to the venue page with the full details.
When you go to checkout, there is a question prompting “Do you have any special access requirements? If no, please leave blank.” Here you can put in any access information you want the venue to see ahead of time, such as if you require a seat near an exit for example. Please do not put in any ticket requests or questions in here, as they will not be seen, and instead email the Box Office with your query if there’s anything you are unsure about.
For more information, please visit our Accessibility Page.
A majority of events offer complimentary tickets to the assistants of customers with both physical and invisible disabilities, who would not otherwise be able to attend. One free personal assistant ticket is available in conjunction with one paid ticket (concession or otherwise).
If this applies to you, please email us and let us know what email you would like to use to access these tickets and we will set up an account for you, so that you can add these to your basket.
All events will have icons that Our general concessions apply to Students, Senior Citizens (over 60’s), Under-16's, D/deaf and disabled people, those registered as being on State Benefits, and Equity members.
Some shows may offer discounts for other groups, which will be specified in the description of the alternate ticket.
The Pay What You Can model means that you can pay whatever price you like, using a slider to select the price of the ticket. Artists may set a minimum required price for this or have it start at 0. There may also be a guide price, which is where the slider will automatically start.
The pay limit for all PWYC tickets is £30.
There are two types of free show that exist within Brighton Fringe – ticketed and listing only. Listing only events do not require a ticket to attend, and you can turn up to the venue at the specified time. Free ticketed events require you to book a free slot to attend.
Donations events are free to attend, but the performer will be intending to collect donations at the performance.
Most performances at Brighton Fringe have unallocated seating, which means seats are allocated on a first come first serve basis.
Events with allocated seating will have a seating plan appear when you go to book, meaning that you can select your specific seat. If this did not appear upon booking, it is most likely that the event has unallocated seating.
If you have access requirements that mean you have specific seating requirements, do include this in your booking notes and get in touch with us so that we can communicate this to the venue ahead of time.
Some shows may offer Family Tickets, which is a singular ticket price that covers two adults and two children, or one adult and three children.
Some shows may offer a 5% discount for groups of 4 or more, or a 10% discount for groups of 10 or more. You will be able to see this option on the ticket page of the event if it is offered.
This differs between events and venues. You can find the Babes in Arms policy for a performance on the right-hand side of an event page.
This indicates that the performance has opted in to offering tickets for our Friends of Fringe scheme. Friends of Brighton Fringe have access to a number of 2 for 1 tickets depending on the membership tier.
To find out more about our memberships you can find them on our Friends of Fringe page.
Please read through our Friends of Fringe guide, which has a step by step on how to access these tickets.
Please check the below:
You are entering the Promo Code in the Promo Code box at the bottom of the ticketing page
You have then selected the relevant ticket option that has appeared (promo codes create a separate special ticket at a special price, they don’t change the price of listed standard tickets).
You have ensured the code you entered is case sensitive (e.g if the code is in all caps, you have entered it in all caps).
If you have done all of the above and are still struggling to access the offer, do get in touch.
Please check that all of your details are correct, such as billing postcode, expiry date, etc. Our card issuer compares the information to the information received from your bank, and if this does not match it will block the payment.
If incorrect details are tried too many times, your account will be temporarily blocked as an anti-scam measure. If you are trying different cards and they are all failing, this may be the cause. If you are having trouble with making payment online, do call us or visit us in person.
Please check if the balance is appearing as ‘pending’ in your account – if it is pending, it is likely your payment was rejected and the money will bounce back into your account shortly.

If it is not pending, or you are certain that something is wrong, please do contact us and we will be happy to help investigate and resolve any issues.
