What's On: Half Term 2023

It’s time for the little ones to have a #CuriouslyFringe experience this half term. Brighton Fringe’s programme is packed with events to entertain and delight kids of all ages during half term week, and we’ve picked a few highlights for families to enjoy.

Don’t forget, many Brighton Fringe events offer a discounted Family Ticket price so that attending Brighton Fringe 2022 as a family doesn’t have to break the bank. Family Tickets are valid for groups of two adults and two children or one adult and three children.

Fringe Family Picnic: June 4 12.00 - 16.00 FREE (Royal Pavilion Gardens)
Don’t miss the ultimate half term holiday fun with the totally free Fringe Family Picnic. Brighton Fringe's wildly popular family picnic is back to celebrate the Jubilee Weekend! Join us as we take over Pavilion Gardens with more free family entertainment than you can shake a stick at, with family-friendly performances, games and activities there's something for all ages and interests.

Enjoy the interactive Storytelling with Living Paintings, music from The Cheer Up Molly’s, acrobatics from PreHysterical and potentially even some child-friendly rap from Twig the Pixie.

PreHysterical: 28, 30 & 31 May, 1 - 4 June FAMILY TICKET £40 (Brighton Spiegeltent)
Join us for a hilarious circus show for children and parents of all ages, following three foolish Neanderthals as they struggle to survive the harsh natural world. Avoiding predators, navigating harsh environments, and learning to work together are all explored with marvellous circus skills and hilarious slapstick comedy. With incredible circus and tongue-in-cheek humour for the adults, PreHysterical is something everyone will enjoy.

Globetrotters Crazy Golf Golf: 26 - 31 May, 1 - 4 June FAMILY TICKET £20 (Jubilee Square)
Jubilee Square will be transformed into a community hub where friends and family can enjoy great food and drink plus mini golf all within walking distance of the city's main attractions. In addition to the mini golf, there will be a range of alcoholic drinks provided by two eye-catching mobile bars. One is a double decker London bus and the other is a converted camper van serving prosecco and cocktails.

Grimms PuppeTails: 21, 22, 28 & 29 May, 4 & 5 June £10/£8 (Sweet @ The Poets)
PuppeTails bring you the world premiere of their family-friendly, multi-puppeted version of four classic stories by The Brothers Grimm. Six puppeteers, none of whom take things seriously, will make you laugh as they charm you with fantastic hand-made puppets and a specially written script that should amuse the adults as much as it fascinates the kids. Who is running the show? The actors or the puppets?

Mr. Bubbles is back with his extraordinary soap bubbles in all shapes and sizes. Enjoy bouncy bubbles, bubbles inside bubbles, smoke bubbles, square bubbles, giant bubbles and even fire bubbles! Interactive and suitable for all ages, The Bubble Show is a unique blend of magic, storytelling, science and bubble art.

Bag Lady's Fringe: 31 May, 1 - 5 June, £10/£5 (The Rotunda Theatre: Squeak)
Brighton’s very own Sarah Davies brings you her new one-woman clown show,: Bag Lady’s Fringe. Bag Lady’s Fringe will show you the world through Bag Lady’s eyes; an absurd place of wonder, fun and games, laughter and togetherness. Wordless, artful and carefree, Bag Lady carries her world around with her in her trolley - but her heart is where her home is. Young or old, you will love Bag Lady's delightfully deluded, happy-go-lucky approach to life. So open your eyes, ears and hearts, and join in the fun as Bag Lady takes delight at everyone’s favourite time of year. Bag Lady loves Brighton. You will love Bag Lady’s Fringe.
