Lewis is the Strategic Manager for Arts, Culture & Creative Industries for Brighton & Hove City Council.
On joining the board:
Brighton & Hove City Council is committed to culture, creatives and maintaining our city’s world-leading reputation as a place to make, watch and experience the arts. As Arts, Culture & Creative Industries Manager my job is to advocate for culture internally and externally, work with incredible organisations like Brighton Fringe and support creative workers to thrive. As observer to the board, I will be able to identify were and how the council can best support the Fringe to keep its central place in the economy and character of our city.
How do you hope to impact of Brighton Fringe going forward:
Brighton Fringe offers incredible opportunities for both residents and visitors, whether they are bringing their own work to the stage as performers, attending as audience members, or operating a fringe venue. I want to see Brighton Fringe continue to grow as an event that creates opportunities for local artists, companies, and businesses, but also increases its national and international profile, bringing more visitors to our wonderful city and new artists to our stages.
