Brighton Fringe welcomes national and international acts. Every year for the last eight years, Brighton Fringe has been granted permit free status. Listed festivals can invite performers under the Standard visitor route without the need for formal sponsorship under the points-based system.
Previously, citizens of the EEA and Switzerland were free to enter and live in the UK without applying for permission and in most cases were also able to take part in Brighton Fringe without needing any visa or work permit. From 1 January 2021, EU, EEA and Swiss Nationals will be classed as 'non-visa nationals'. Non-visa nationals still do not need to apply for a visa before travelling to Brighton Fringe.
As in previous years, visa nationals will require a visa in order to gain entry to the UK.
If you are an international act and would like to participate in Brighton Fringe 2022, take a look at our visa and FEU pages for guidance on what you need to do.
