The first of anything is usually okay, often it’s rather exciting. First day in a new job? You can make mistakes, it’s fine! First date? You’re allowed to be nervous, you’ve only just met them! First marriage? We all make mistakes, don’t worry about it. First child? Usually the better one.

But the second. The second of anything can be brutal. You should know what you’re doing by the second attempt. No excuses, you’ve done this before.
