Seeing Beyond the Stones brings together a range of artwork from a wonderfully diverse group of artists — from our youngest children to our oldest residents, including some of the most marginalised and vulnerable voices within our communities. It will also include 'Who's Your Rock?' - a large-scale installation plus work from professional artists too.
While the world around St Peter’s has changed dramatically over two centuries, the church itself has remained a steadfast presence at the heart of Brighton. Through this anniversary year, we are celebrating not just the building, but the community that has grown around it — honouring Brighton’s unique heritage, creative spirit, and vibrant people.
On 8th May 2024, we marked the 200-year anniversary of the laying of St Peter’s Church’s foundation stone. As part of our year-long celebrations, we're finishing with Seeing Beyond the Stones — an art exhibition that invites our community to reimagine and reconnect with this iconic building.
