Every Friday at 6pm come and join us at St Andrews church, Hove, where we'll be playing the finest jazz music, performed by some of the country's most esteemed and well loved musicians.
May 9th; John Coltrane's "Blue Trane" Coltrane burst onto the scene in the mid fifties and by the end of the decade was producing his best work as band leader. ‘Blue Trane’ stands out as a classic album under the famous BlueNote record label. Lovingly recreated by Coltrane devotee Josephine Davies (tenor sax), and original instrumentation.
May 16th; Oliver Nelson's "The Blues And The Abstract Truth" Transcriptions from Andy Panayi (alto sax) and Chris Coull (trumpet). Septet with Alan Barnes (sax), Graham Harvey (piano)
May 23rd; Ellingtonia - Ellingtonia (Alan Barnes-Chris Coull Octet)
