On joining the board
“As a proud Fringe Artist, I have been incredibly fortunate to have Brighton Fringe as my home festival. It has been an accessible gateway into the festival world for multiple generations of creative people, myself included. Everyone should have the right to create and perform, and I am excited to escalate my endorsement of that statement in this role.”
How do you hope to impact Brighton Fringe going forward?
“As a trustee, I want to continue the work I started in my previous role as Artist Observer to the Board: bringing the artists’ perspective to the table, as one of thousands of creative people who form the Brighton Fringe programme each year. In the same light, I want to be an active part in stressing the vitality of Brighton Fringe’s work to both the city and wider festival circuit. In our new age of the generative and derivative, this platform that champions the raw creativity of the individual is more crucial to our cultural discourse than it ever has been.”
