She is doing an At-home STI kit. Her train of thoughts goes to where they met the first time, what music they were playing and what they were talking about.
She is still doing the STI kit. She is thinking of all the sexual encounters she has been in. Their eye colours, their star signs, their ages.
She is trying to find the pattern. She is trying to find where it all started. And she is still doing the kit, thinking the instructions are not so easy to follow.
This play is a conversation about consent, power dynamics and privilege with arguments for and against the act of stealthing. It is a young woman’s self-reckoning or self-sabotage confronting the questions arising from the sexual encounters she has been in. Within the belief of fixing the problem or whatsoever, she digs into every detail and all things in common that these men had and/or did.
‘He’s six years older than me.’ So was he and so was him. How is that relevant in this situation, in this conversation, in this play?
