Join us for free spoken word and poetry performances as Carousel's learning disabled and/or autistic spoken word artists pop-up across the city centre with impromptu performances.
Carousel champions the rights of artists with a learning disability to flourish and be celebrated and is dedicated to making learning disabled creativity a valued part of the cultural landscape.

Charlie Hatton: Charlie tells you his story. Charlie Hatton writes fun, imaginative and whimsical stories and poems, often featuring a cast of memorable characters. His writing style is inspired by classic children’s authors such as Michael Rosen and Roger McGough.
Susannah Hall-Hirst: Susannah Hall-Hirst writes poems about nature and life’s journey. Coming from a creative family with a love of literature, Susannah wants the audience to step into her shoes and see life through her perspective.

Stuart Leaney: Stuart Leaney writes short, joyful poetry from the heart, about the things he holds dear. Variously touching, deep and funny, Stuart writes about family, music and nature, and the people and places that inspire him.
The Porter: It is 1 am, you're at a pub, you get talking to a guy. He is two sheets to the wind approaching the third and in the sweetspot of sobriety he tells you his story. The Porter is the stand-up comic creation of Joel Cooper.
