A journey of a story in dreams, the tale is adapted from the Buddhist Jataka tales, which were discovered as cave paintings in the Mogao Caves at Dunhuang, China. It shows a balance between love and being loved, and beneath that it is a warning about returning to our true love by rejecting obsession, greed and desire.
Language No Problem
Using cartoonised Chinese opera movements, puppetry, mechanical objects, animation, and specially composed object sound effects, 'A Deer of Nine Colours' tries to blend visual languages of both the east and west and experiment with a new and unique style of visual theatre.
