Learn to rag rug in this full day workshop with Elspeth Jackson, one of the leading rag ruggers in the country and best-selling author of “Rag Rugs Pillows and More” and “Rug Rug Techniques for Beginners”. Elspeth is a regular on Craft TV and a frequent contributor to craft magazines.

This age-old craft, with a modern twist, upcycles old clothing and fabric transforming them into something beautiful. It is easy to learn and very forgiving, the possibilities are endless and be careful, it is addictive!

With plenty of 1-2-1 help you will learn how to use the tools, the hessian, how to choose and prepare materials, the three different types of rag rugging and how to finish your work. In the afternoon you will begin a project of your own, e.g. a rug/cushion/bouquet/wreath/shopping bag.

Everything you need is provided but as the charm of rag rugging is often in the memories attached to old clothes, you're welcome to bring along any of your own clothing you’d like to incorporate.
