Yakul - With influences like J-Dilla, D’Angelo and Hiatus Kaiyote, Brighton based four-piece Yakul cut an idiosyncratic figure in British music. Marrying introspective emotive lyrics with deep grooves and jazz-infused progressions, they’ve created a sound that is matchless in its depth and its voracious fusion of styles and vibes across the musical spectrum.
Howes3 - an exciting Brighton-based jazz funk/gospel fusion power trio. Brought together through a mutual love of 70s jazz funk, 80s fusion, 90s R’n’B, gospel and hip hop they cultivate a unique sound that has a foot in each genre. Blending smooth neo-soul progressions and utilising rich gospel harmony, sincere melodies and increasing levels of rhythmic freedom throughout, their music is a feel-good journey through their collective influences.
Yadasofi - formed in 2018 by drummer and composer Nadav Schneerson, the band embraces heritage and the connection between culture and history. The high octane sextet speaks its stories through compositions reminiscent of the Post-Bop era, with an essence of Free Jazz, Middle Eastern and Jewish Music, West/North African Music and Cuban Music, as well as being heavily influenced by many groups in the Israeli and London Jazz scenes.
