Brighton Fringe Ltd is setting up a new immersive outdoor venue North of St. Peter's Church as part of Brighton Fringe 2023 called Caravanserai. Within Caravanserai, this venue Junk Poets, is a 50 seated bandstand style, fairground inspired wooden framed studio theatre. The venue will have a fixed lighting rig with a small number of focusable fixtures and a PA system suitable for theatre, comedy and small scale musical acts. The venue sits inside a fully authentic world made from a dazzling array of old fairground rides, retro french caravans, hoopla stalls and shoot out galleries with cocktail bars, chill out areas and food traders sitting seamlessly inside the curio filled world. The mission, alongside the Caravanserai creative team is to create a central Brighton Fringe hub that will support both the Fringe and our wider community. It will not only provide a platform for local programmers and acts to take risks and perform; but also generate vital, sustainable revenue that will be reinvested into Brighton Fringe year on year. We are looking for events that appeal to a wide audience and highlight the diversity in the current Fringe programme. The venue can support a broad range of programming including work by young people, families and children, music, theatre, comedy, cabaret, circus, workshops and talks and late night activities (club nights, silent disco). Proposed site opening hours (subject to licence conditions): Sunday - Wednesday: 11am - Midnight Thursday - Saturday: 11am - 2am We would love to hear from participants, programmers and local charity or community groups who have ideas about how they may use either the main venues or surrounding world. Also available for applications are our 220 seater / 350 standing Big Top, Luna Parc, and the 200 capacity outdoor family and children's area. There is also a busking stage open to all Brighton Fringe performers and walkabout performance opportunities
