Artistic Director of Something Underground since 2006.
Brighton-born and bred (and still locally-based) and have Performed/produced multiple theatre shows (some years several shows) of varied theatrical genres for about 12 years since 2007. We've won, or been shortlisted/nominated for a number of Fringe awards. I also teach a long-running solo show course and my students often go on to be first time performers at Btn Fringe, so also have a perspective from the viewpoint of their newbie status, and hence, am often keen to help them be well-served by The Fringe and its varied machinations.
Motivations for becoming observer to the board of Brighton Fringe:
I would like to see participants interests supported and given voice and some representation. Having had good experience of the Fringe from many angles, (audience, participant, producer, (minor) venue manager and reviewer) I feel well placed to speak for/represent participants and feel moved to do so, having observed several ways in which participants interests are and are not served by venues and the Fringe.
