How to take part in Brighton Fringe
Miss Disney by Ayla Carli

Brighton Fringe is a completely open-access festival, which means no artistic judgment or selection criteria are imposed on participants, enabling the development of both new and established work to attract fresh audiences, press and promoters.

Brighton Fringe has grown out of and is inspired by home-grown creativity: more than 30% of events are put on by artistic companies based in Brighton & Hove.

The 2022 programme will be split up into 11 main event categories: Cabaret & Variety, Children & Young People, Circus, Dance & Physical Theatre, Comedy, Events & Films, Exhibitions, Literature & Spoken Word, Music & Nightlife, Theatre, Tours and Workshops.

Three essentials to taking part

Anyone and everyone are encouraged to take part. The three main components to participating in Brighton Fringe are:

Event

Your event can be anything you like… a comedy sketch, a musical, an exhibition, an installation, a tour, a film or a book fair.

Venue

Your event can be held anywhere you like… a theatre, a pub, a taxi, a sewer, a park, a tent, a beach hut, a café, or your own house! You also have the option to hold a digital event.

Date

Your event can take place at any time between 6 May - 5 June 2022; be it a one night show or a 30-day run – it’s up to you!
