Julie and her balloon are old friends, now living on the streets of London.
A careleaver left without support some 20 years ago, she hangs onto her one remaining childhood treasure, an old balloon. Now wearing it as a lucky charm around her neck, she makes a living selling painted balloons to passers-by while sharing stories about her experiences outside the social ‘system.’

Addressing the ‘addiction traps’ that many homeless people face, this play includes real-life testimonies, shining a light on the individual experience, in an attempt to humanise attitudes towards homelessness.
Using auditory interludes, this unflinching one-woman theatre piece combines comedy and raw emotion to express a contemporary-driven perspective of being homeless. This play will take you on a journey from politics and philosophy to booze demons and first-date failures.
