ICONIC LAGOS is about celebrating everyday life in Lagos, honouring its inhabitants and exploring what makes the city unique. Eyes of a Lagos Boy documents history from the African perspective, working towards a balanced representation.

Bolaji Alonge is an artist, photographer, journalist and actor from Lagos, Nigeria with more than two decades of experience in documenting history. He is a permanent feature in the Lagos art scene. Alonge’s visual language speaks of wonders of nature and human exchange, as it searches for historical continuity in today’s world.

At Brighton Fringe, Alonge presents his own work and some mixed art in collaboration with Jason Ogbazi, a talented Nigerian artist. In 2020, Alonge was the Rapporteur of the PACE ENTANGLED festival, a Pan-African exchange forum.
