A guided tour of the three new and iconic Black Rock Beachcomber sculptures with the artists Anna Dumitriu and Alex May. Learn about the ideas and techniques used in creating this stunning series of artworks.
The innovative public sculptures combine cutting-edge technologies including photogrammetry, 3D modelling and 3D printing to create beautiful digital collages which reveal hidden stories about the nature, people and engineering of this historic and important coastal site, gathered from local residents and visitors.
The sculptures include digitally scanned and reconstructed elements for example driftwood, Victorian seaweed collections, an Iron Age hoard, parts of Veteran car Genevieve Car, Volk's Railway, Black Rock Bathing Pool, and Sea Kale.
Participants can also be amongst the first experience the artists' augmented reality app that enables users to digitally ‘plant’ Sea Kale on the beach and imagine the future of the re-wilding project.
