Last August thousands of Brightonians filled Queens Road to oppose the racist riots that swept the country. But this is not the first time that Brighton has stood together against racism and fascism. Our city has a long history of stopping fascists, running from the 1930s through the 1980s and the 2000s. Join us for a walk around central Brighton marking the sites where key battles took place.
This walk has been organised in collaboration with “Whose Streets? Mapping Places, Mapping Protests” - part of the Brighton Festival in collaboration with the University of Sussex.
The walk includes free access to Brighton Museum (normally £10!) to see the collaborative antifascist protest maps created as part of the project and an introduction from the curator of the event to talk through them.
50% of the money raised will go to The International Antifascist Defence Fund
