This festival concert is a highlight of the year. Roedean’s talented young musicians enjoy an opportunity to perform concerto movements with orchestra. This year the programme will include movements from Piano Concertos by Edvard Grieg and Dmitri Shostakovich, Henryk Wieniawski Violin Concerto No.2, Gabriel Fauré’s Élégie for Cello, Louis Spohr Clarinet Concerto No.1, and Giovanni Sammartini Recorder Concerto in F.
Roedean Choir will be joined by parents, staff and local musicians to perform Lili Boulanger’s dramatic, beautiful and inspiring choral work, Psalm 130 “Du fond de l'abîme”. Composed in 1917 when she was just 24 years old.
