The debut Fringe event for Queer the Mic, a sparkly spoken word and poetry stage for queer poets, proudly hosted by The Brunswick. QTM is a raucous and inclusive poetry night, with starry features and handpicked open micers.
The multi-award-winning Joelle Taylor will be headlining. Her poetry collection C+NTO & Othered Poems was the winner of the prestigious T.S Eliot Prize in 2021. It was DIVA’s Pride Book of the Month: 'A celebration, a reclamation... this is work that should not be missed.’ She founded SLAMbassadors and international spoken-word project Borderlines and is co-curator and host of Out-Spoken Live.
Our feature is Merki, poet, rapper, and creative writer from East London, by way of Brighton. After graduating, they plan to complete a Masters at the Academy of Contemporary Music. They spread good vibes, inspire change in the world, and their intersectional identity fuels their crafts.
Proudly run by and for the queer, trans and disabled community.
