A rehearsed reading of POISON, an internationally acclaimed play directed by Erwin Maas, with Atandwa Kani (Black Panther) & Kerri McLean (Poldark)
“A play about a man and a woman who lost a child, then themselves and eventually each other”
After many years of separation, a couple meet at the burial grounds of their child. He moved on and looks to the future. She remains stuck in the past. What comes from tragedy? Can hope be born out of our deepest emotional pain and turmoil? While remembering the final moments of their loved one, the couple take their first steps towards reconciliation.
POISON is one of the most internationally celebrated and staged Dutch plays and has been translated to multiple languages. Maas’ Off Broadway production of POISON in NYC received a New York Times Critic’s Pick and his South African production (starring Atandwa Kani) toured several festivals to rave reviews. The play also had an acclaimed run in London directed by Paul Miller for Orange Tree Theatre.
