Morris Dancing & English Folksong Session in the North Laine
Brighton Morris welcomes you to our North Laine dance out for 2023! We will be brandishing our bells, cracking our sticks and flashing our hankies as we tour through the North Laines, where we will dance at some of Brighton’s oldest and best pubs. The event will finish with a folk song and sea shanty singalong at the Brighton Tavern. Follow us from pub to pub or just drop in to see us dance for a bit.

Here’s our plan:
6.30: The Foundry, 13-14 Foundry Street North Laine. Brighton BN1 4AT.
7.00: The Basketmakers, 12 Gloucester Road, BN1 4AD.
7.30: Brighton Tavern, 99-100 Gloucester Road, Brighton BN1 4AP
8.00 onwards at Brighton Tavern: Folk song and sea shanty singalong.

Morris is a traditional form of English folk dance dating back to at least 1448. Brighton Morris prides itself on being a high-energy dance side and you should come expecting all manner of high theatrics, low humour, splintered wood and hearty song!
