“Why do I always do this?! I always find something that makes me sad when I’m already feeling anxious about going out. I find something like a sad video or that song from Toy Story 2 and get myself in a right state, and then I don’t go out.”
But this time, AJ must go out. It is the difference between getting the girl she’s been crushing on or not.
She wasn't always like this. Before her dads brain injury she would have jumped at the chance to go out but now, everything is different. Lost and unsure, AJ is trying to patch her life back together with chicken nuggets, karaoke and a really cute girl from her literature seminar.
Written and performed by Tanieth Kerr, this play explores family, loss, the effects of brain injury, the mortality of parents and working up the courage to go to karaoke.
