Join alibpoetry and her spoken wordsmith friends for an afternoon of poetry at The Roost and be part of the launch of a new movement in Brighton - throwing hats in celebration of a poetic talent.
*Ten points if you get it on the poet's head!*
This is Hats OFF poetry, hosted by alibpoetry, who has been spouting rhyming words on stage for seven years. Ali is known on the spoken word scene nationwide as a UK Hammer & Tongue finalist and awards winner at the Scottish Mental Health Arts Festival. In 2022, Ali debuted her Fringe show #BLEEP at Brighton and Edinburgh which was written in poetic prose.
In this event, seven poets will each perform a 5-6 minute set and when they finish and do a humble bow, the audience members will celebrate with a commotion of applause, cheering and hat throwing onto the stage.
Which leads to the most important detail - BRING A HAT!
Whether it is a bowler, cap or a teeny weenie beanie, we want it in the air!
(No poets will be harmed in the process)
